How to look after your kitten at home

To have a kitten, you will need :

Kitten toys

Kitten food and water

A food bowl and a water bowl

A litter tray

Kitten treats to teach them tricks if you want to

Lots of cat litter to put in the litter tray

Lots of energy and patience

A cat or kitten carrier

A brush to brush the kitten with

A cat scratching post

And a kitten

To set up for your kitten, you will need to find a place to put the food, water and litter tray. Put all of the kitten toys so the kitten can see and play with them all.

Make sure that all of the things that you have just got are all in one room with a door that you can close. You want to introduce your kitten to your house and/or your other kittens or cats slowly.

Calico Kitten

The first few days you need to keep the kitten in the one room that it started in. And then sometimes take the kitten out the room and put it back in the room for bedtime. After a few days of that, when they're getting on you can let your kitten out of the room. But leave the door open so it can get to the litter tray, food and water.

Tortoiseshell Kitten

If that all goes well, move the litter tray, food and water out of the room to a permanent spot in the house. Let the kitten run free though your house.

Two Kittens
