PURPOSE OF DATA COLLECTION 

We may use and process your personal information where it is necessary for us to pursue our legitimate interests as a business for the following purposes:

  • analysis to inform our marketing strategy, and to enhance and personalise your customer experience e.g. what geographical areas need more services;

  • analysis to help us understand and improve how our products and services are used, e,g, what ages to sell further activities for

  • preparation of statistical information regarding sign ups and usage in different areas, age groups etc.

We may process a range of personal information about you including the following types of information: contact (such as your name, post code, email address), cardholder (your payment card details) and correspondence (information contained in our correspondence or other communications with you about our products, services or business).

Any personal information you provide us with is on a voluntary basis. However, we will not be able to provide you with our services without it, as we require this information to enter into a contract with you.

 

At sign up we will collect the following information as you provide it: name, email, mobile number, post code, number of children, ages, location.

With regard to each of your visits to our website: We may automatically collect technical information, including anonymous data collected by the hosting server (Wix) for statistical purposes, the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer or device to the Internet, browser type and version, time zone setting, operating system and platform.

HOW DATA IS PROCESSED.

COLLECTED: We may collect and process the following information about you: Personal information you give to us at registration. 

This is information about you that you give to us by entering information via our website or in some cases by corresponding with us by phone or email. 

This is provided entirely voluntarily. The information you give us for family sign ups includes 

your name, contact information (email and phone number), post code, area, number and age of children.

STORED: Home Education Hotspots is based in the United Kingdom, which is in the European Economic Area (EEA). 

All information you provide to us may be transferred to countries outside the EEA. This may happen where any of our third party service providers are located in a country outside of the EEA, such as Wix. These countries may not have similar data protection laws to the UK.

Wix are based in the United States, they store your information in accordance with the regulations stated in COPPA.

The security of your personal information is important to us. 

USED: Where you have provided consent we may use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • Contact you with marketing information about our partners, services and offers if you consent to emails at point of registration. A tick box is selected at sign up to do so. 

  • Contact you with marketing information about our partners, services and offers if you consent to WhatsApp at point of registration. A tick box is selected at sign up to do so.

You may withdraw your consent for us to use your information in any of these ways at any time. Please contact us.

SHARING DATA WITH THIRD PARTIES

We will not share your personal data for marketing or sales purposes.

Credit/debit card payment processors:

When you purchase any products or services, your credit/debit card payment is processed by a third party payment processor, who specialises in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions. 

If you have any questions regarding secure transactions, please contact us using the details at the end of this policy.

 

We may transfer your personal information to a third party as part of a sale of some or all of our business and assets to any third party or as part of any business restructuring or reorganisation. We may also transfer your personal information if we’re under a duty to disclose or share it in order to comply with any legal obligation, to detect or report a crime, to enforce or apply the terms of our contracts or to protect the rights, property or safety of our customers.

However, we will always take steps with the aim of ensuring that your privacy rights continue to be protected.

DATA RETENTION

Home education hotspots will store your data as long as your account is active. As you have ongoing membership for all children in your family this is not a set period of time. You can close your account at anytime from your members area.

 

If you wish to close your account you can do this from your account area, we will include anonymised information in our statistics and we delete your personal information.
